About Sad Panda

Sad Panda is a casual progression guild focused on raiding deep end game content. We call ourselves a casual progression guild because we take raiding very seriously, but we don't take committing vast sums of our week to the game as seriously. We raid a very casual schedule of 2 days a week. We feel that if a guild has a solid roster of high performers, 2 nights a week is all you need to see the deep end game content. We will never compete for world firsts with our schedule, but that is not the goal of this guild. Our goal is to show up twice a week and get as far as we can as fast as we can--and hopefully have fun while doing so.

Sad Panda has been around since pre-BC. The guild was originally founded as an alt/pvp guild for one of the main progression guilds on smolderthorn. When Burning Crusade came out Sad Panda went from being an alt/pvp guild to a full fledged raiding guild. We were one of the few guilds raiding Black Temple and Mount Hyjal when attunements were still required. We also were one of three guilds on the server that cleared all of Sunwell before WotLK came out. Our raiding in WotLK was equally successful. We were the first and only guild on the server to kill Heroic Lich King 25 HM. We have accomplished all of this with a very light raiding schedule.

In Cataclysm we have scored many server first end boss kills and are looking to continue that success into heroics.

Raiding Schedule

Tuesday: 7:30-12 Est time

Thursday:  7:30-12 Est Time

Loot Distribution

We use an additive DKP system called Sad Panda points. Recruits are eligible to bid on gear during their trial period.

Requirements

  • Extensive raiding experience
  • Extensive knowledge of class and spec
  • Always carry consumables
  • Ability to keep a positive attitude and desire to achieve
  • Not afraid to speak up and contribute, but can take constructive criticism
  • Well-geared (25 man +) with proper enchants and gems
  • High school age or older.
  • Must have a working mic, ventrilo, and a good computer/internet connection

Most our raiders could easily be in top progression guilds if they desired (many of them have been in the past). This is the caliber of player we are looking for. If you are a top notch player who is unable/unwilling to commit to 4 or 5 nights a week of raiding, but still want to experience true progression content, please fill out an application.

If Accepted

If approved, you will be invited as a “trial” for an evaluation period.  The trial period typically lasts 2 to 4 weeks depending on attendance, performance, attitude and other factors.  At the end of your trial period, you will either be promoted to "Raider" or informed that you have not passed your trial and demoted to casual.

Casual Rank

One of the great things about our guild is our large roster of casual members. Guild members at casual status are those who aren't part of our Tuesday/Thursday raid roster but still wear our guild tag and participate in off night activities. We like having this large casual base because it gives everyone in our guild the opportunity to easily assemble arena teams, bg's, or raids on offnights. If you are interested in being a casual in our guild please speak to an officer in game. We don't require an application to be casual, we just ask that you respect the guild tag you are wearing. The only time we ever remove casuals is when they pull immature or shady behavior that drags down our guild name. So if you are some one who doesn't play very often, or doesn't have a large appetite for end game raiding, but want to be part of a large and respected guild, feel free to reach out to one of our officers and ask about casual status.
